I see from your posts around the web that a 3d printer is your next project, its a current project of mine. I was working on simplifying the pickup driver board to make it interface into the open pins on an ardiuno + ramps 1.4 board combo. I think accommodating the current common hardware chain of 3d printer makers would greatly increase the availibility and therefore research done on this. I was wondering if you would share the pinouts you figured out, I think being able to run print tests with the red laser would be useful since the beam is easily visible, and it wouldn't cure uv resins.
Yes we are designing a 3D laser printer. Sure, if we discover more pickup pins we will publish them here. About use the red laser as a pointer, really you don't need it because the 405nm laser beam is visible. It's on the near UV wavelenght so you will see it as a blue-violet beam. By the way, do you have any experience with UV resins? Could you recomend us one which works well on 405nm wavelenght?
I am still waiting on my first order of subg+ from makerjuice which their UV curing resins cure with wavelength up to about 420nm. I chose that one for its no voc's, There is a discussion forum over at www.buildyourownsla.com for resins and suppliers from people testing them.
